Classes

Kalindi Yoga teaches Hatha yoga based on the teachings of Swami Vishnudevananda. The classes are traditional in their approach allowing students to delve deeper into their own practice. Hatha yoga is a slower form of yoga where asanas (postures) are held for longer. The purpose is to learn to become still both physically and mentally, calming the thought waves of the mind as you hold the posture and focus on your breath. Kalindi Yoga's classes are designed to offer a challenge to students, both physically and mentally, as by holding asanas, sometimes the mind starts to fight against us. It is this that is yoga - learning to control those thoughts as you hold the asana. Kalindi Yoga's aim is to help students gain confidence in their abilities and strength on and off the mat. Whatever you practice on the mat is a reflection of how you are off the mat. All abilities are welcome. Kalindi Yoga is there as your guide and teacher and aims to help you improve your practice, slowly and gradually.

Classes contain pranayama (breathing practices), a sequence of asanas (postures) and end with a guided relaxation ensuring students leave the class feeling calm and connected.

Hand on adjustments are made during the class to help students to improve in their own practice.

Classes in Frome are available to book via MoveGB.

Yoga is a very personal thing and there is a teacher for everyone.

"I came to Kat's yoga class in August 2015 wanting to do something for myself after having a baby.  And now eight months later I literally feel my life has been transformed. I practice at home as often as I can fit it in. And days when I feel things start to spiral out of control, I always hit the yoga mat, even if just for some breathing and it always helps! Yoga has changed my outlook on life and I am much more in control of my emotions. I have balance and now appreciate how wonderful life is." - Holly Witt, April 2016

"I thought of you this morning during practice as I always remember how I love your lessons and how much I miss them! Your classes are my favourite ever and really helped my health, they suit my needs perfectly." - Chris, March 2016

For anyone thinking about trying out yoga for the very first time, or for a seasoned yogi like myself, these classses are not to be missed....come along and decide for yourself. I have limited mobility in one hip, and despite this, I have been able to continue my practice with Kat's adaptable and supportive approach. I continue to do my daily practice at home but the benefits of your guided classes are wonderful. Thank you. Namaste." - Catherine, May 2016
